ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Purdue men's tennis team dropped its road match at No. 6 Michigan on Saturday afternoon.
The Boilermakers fell behind in doubles with 6-3 and 6-1 losses at No. 2 and 3, respectively. Michal Wozniak and Piotr Galus were in a fight with No. 13 Andrew Fenty and Nino Ehrenschneider at No. 1, trailing 4-3 when play was halted.
Gabriele Brancatelli pushed No. 57 Andrew Fenty to a tiebreak in the first set and held a 2-1 lead in the second at No. 2, only for the match to go unfinished. Galus had yet to start his third set after narrowly dropping the first to Patron Hanchaikul at No. 6 when the Wolverines clinched the match.
UP NEXT
Purdue will make the short trip to East Lansing to face Michigan State Sunday afternoon at noon. Purdue will then return home next weekend for a pair of matches against Nebraska on April 16 and Wisconsin on April 17. The Boilermakers will host Kids Days at both matches with fun and games for the whole family.
