NAPLES, Fla. – The No. 23 Purdue men's golf team was in the midst of a solid round when two separate weather delays halted second-round play in Tuesday action at the prestigious Calusa Cup at Calusa Pines Golf Club.
The Boilermakers moved up one spot into fourth place with a 3-over par score with its members having played anywhere from 10 to 13 holes.
Georgia Tech (7 thru 9) and Wake Forest (7 thru 9) are tied for the lead at 7-under par. First-round leader Florida (7 thru 9) is third at 4-under par. Purdue (10 thru 13) follows at 5-over par and is followed by Clemson (14 thru 18) at 10-over par, Oklahoma (10 thru 13) and Georgia (10 thru 13) at 13-over par, Iowa (14 thru 18) at 15-over par and Marquette (14 thru 18) at 18-over par.
The nine teams will conclude the second round on Tuesday morning starting at 8 a.m. ET, then play continuously into the third and final round.
Leading Purdue midway through the second round is Cole Bradley, who is currently in fourth place at 4-under par. Bradley was 3-under par through eight holes, including an eagle on the par-4 eighth hole, before a bogey dropped him to back to fourth place. He is just two shots off the individual lead.
Herman Sekne is currently tied for 20th at 2-over par. Sekne has two birdies and three bogeys through 10 holes in his second round. Andrew Farraye is tied for 26th at 4-over par through 12 holes in his second round. Joe Weiler is 31st at 6-over par through 11 holes and Luke Prall is tied for 32nd at 7-over par through 13 holes in his second round.
The tournament consists of just nine teams with seven of them ranked in the nation's top 23. Included in the field are teams ranked No. 1 (Oklahoma), No. 8 (Georgia), No. 11 (Georgia Tech), No. 16 Florida, No. 17 (Wake Forest), No. 22 (Clemson), No. 23 (Purdue) and Iowa and Marquette.
