<br /><br />AWENDAW, S.C. – The No. 23 Purdue men's golf team improved by six shots from round one, but remained in an eighth-place tie after 36 holes at the Hootie at Bulls Bay.

AWENDAW, S.C. – The No. 23 Purdue men's golf team improved by six shots from round one, but remained in an eighth-place tie after 36 holes at the Hootie at Bulls Bay.
 
The Boilermakers tallied a 9-under par 279 for a 36-hole total of 12-under par 564 (285-279). Purdue is tied with Kentucky at 12-under par, just two shots behind Auburn and Wisconsin and three back of East Tennessee State for fifth place.
 
The round was Purdue's seventh in 17 rounds with a score of 279 or lower. The Boilermakers have posted seven straight team rounds of even-par or better.
 
Joe Weiler surged in round two with a 67, giving him a 36-hole tally of 7-under par 137 (70-67), good for sixth place. After a bogey on the par-5 2nd hole, Weiler recorded six birdies and 10 pars on his remaining 16 holes to move back into the top 10.
 
Herman Sekne enters the final round tied for 27th at 3-under par 141 (70-71). Sekne has had 11 straight rounds of even-par or better.
 
Nick Dentino is tied for 53rd at even-par 144 (73-71), Andrew Farraye is tied for 65th at 2-over par 146 (72-74) and Cole Bradely is tied for 69th at 3-over par 147 (77-70).
 
Playing as an individual, Luke Prall is tied for 53rd at even-par 144 (71-73).
 
Purdue will tee off the final round at 8 a.m. ET, off hole No. 1, and be paired with Auburn and Kentucky.
