SUNSET, S.C. – Purdue Women's Golf saved its best golf for last, firing a 305 (+17) in the final round of the Clemson Invitational. Despite their lowest score of the three-day tournament at The Reserve at Lake Keowee, the Boilermakers did not move up the leaderboard and remained in 14th.
Purdue once again defeated a top 25 team, finishing ahead of No. 23 Virginia Tech. No. 18 LSU captured the team title (+27), edging Illinois (+28) by one shot.
For the third straight day, a different Boilermaker produced the team-low score. Sophomore Ashley Kozlowski fired a 74 (+2) to lead Purdue, while also matching Kan Bunnabodee for the best round of the tournament. Bunnabodee carded her 74 in round two, and she paced the Boilermakers over 54 holes (78-74-78—230) to tie for 38th. She ranked 10th amongst the field of 101 in par-5 scoring, playing the holes 2-under this weekend. Kozlowski grinded throughout her round, playing her final 12 holes at level par. Her lone birdie occurred at the par-5 17th.
Jocelyn Bruch followed Kozlowski, shooting a 76 (+4). The redshirt-freshman's final round was her best of the tournament.
The Boilermakers return home and have a week off before one last tournament ahead of the Big Ten Championship. Purdue remains in-state, traveling down to Bloomington for the Indiana Invitational (April 9-10).
