HOUSTON – Purdue Women's Golf moved up the leaderboard Tuesday, using a final-round 287 (-1) to finish sixth at the ICON Invitational. The Boilermakers (287-294-287—868) posted their second under-par round on The Golf Club of Houston's Tournament Course to place in the top half of a stacked field.

No. 22 USC captured the team title at 39-under par. Illinois finished runner-up (-24), while Purdue (+4) finished ahead of ranked opponents No. 23 Ole Miss (+5) and No. 20 TCU (+16) as well as conference foes Maryland (+8) and Michigan State (+8).

Kan Bunnabodee started the spring right where she left off in the fall, leading the Boilermakers for the third time in her five tournament appearances this season. She fired Purdue's low round of the day, a 2-under 70, to finish under par for the tournament (-2) and in a tie for 16th. Wrapping up her spring debut, her 54-hole total of 214 (70-74-70) ensured her third top-20 showing of the 2021-22 campaign. Bunnabodee limited her mistakes on Tuesday, making just one bogey to go along with three birdies and 14 pars.

Also recording her second under-par round of the tournament was Ashley Kozlowski. The Littleton, Colorado, native carded a 71 (-1), getting her back to even par (69-76-71—216) for the 54-hole event to secure a top-25 finish. After a bogey at No. 12, her fourth hole of the day, Kozlowski played her final holes mistake free and added two birdies coming into the clubhouse.

Consistency was the name of the game for Inez Wanamarta, as the Boilermaker shot 73 (+1) for the third straight round. She began her day with a birdie before going 4-over through the next six holes. Wanamarta bounced back by not making a bogey over her final 11 holes. Nine pars and a pair of birdies on par 5s moved her back to her usual 1-over round.

Daniela Ballesteros contributed to the team score, matching Wanamarta with a 73. The final round was her best of the tournament as she made three birdies throughout the day. A stretch of four consecutive bogeys prevented the Boilermaker from going low, but after the rough patch, she played her final 10 holes 2-under par.

Making Purdue's only eagle of the tournament was Jocelyn Bruch. After a birdie on No. 12, she made another three at the par-5 13th for her first eagle as a Boilermaker. Bruch moved to 3-under on the day and would stay that way as she finished the back nine and made the turn. However, the front side was not kind to the redshirt-freshman. She battled throughout the side, even bouncing back with two more birdies, before signing for a 74 (+2). Bruch ended the tournament in 36th for the best finish of her collegiate career thus far.

After playing tournaments back-to-back weeks, the Boilermakers have a couple of weekends off before returning to the course. Purdue makes the trip to Augusta, Georgia for the Valspar Augusta Invitational (March 12-13).
