MADISON, Wis. – Purdue women's swimming & diving opened the Big Ten Championships with a trio of season-best times, highlighted by a quartet of underclassmen cracking the program's all-time top 10 list in the 200 medley relay.

Freshmen Hannah Hill, Teagen Moon and Maggie Love teamed up with sophomore Masy Folcik for a time of 1:39.75 in the 200 medley relay, the first event of Big Tens. That moved the quartet into 10th place in program history. The Boilermakers also posted a top-10 time in the 400 medley relay at the Purdue Invitational in November.

Hill, Folcik, Moon and Love enjoyed a time drop of 1.3 seconds from the team's season-best mark (1:41.05) at the Purdue Invite. Hill moved from the freestyle leg in November to the backstroke leg at Big Tens.

The Boilermakers' 800 freestyle relay team featured a quartet of juniors. Kendra Bowen, Lindsay Turner, Rachel Young and Elissa Haake teamed up for a time of 7:16.78. They enjoyed a time drop of 8.2 seconds from the team season best (7:24.98) posted at the Purdue Invite. Bowen, Haake and Young also were also part of the 800 free relay team in November.

Bowen's leadoff split of 1:48.68 represented the third season best as the top mark by a Boilermaker in the 200 free this year. She enjoyed a time drop of 1.52 seconds from her team best (1:50.20) at the Purdue Invite. Bowen also had the top split of any Boilermaker in the event Wednesday.

The Big Ten Championships continue Thursday with swimming prelims at 11 a.m. ET, 1-meter diving prelims at 1 p.m. and finals at 6:30 p.m.
