MELBOURNE, Fla. – On an extremely difficult day at Duran Golf Club in which the scoring average soared near 80, Inez Wanamarta fired a 1-over 73 to tie for eighth individually and lead Purdue Women's Golf to an eighth-place finish in the Columbia Classic presented by Moon Golf.

Wanamarta's 73 trailed only 72s by Oklahoma State's Isabella Fierro and Becca DiNunzio, the respective medalist and runner-up on the individual leaderboard, as the low rounds of the day. The Purdue grad student grinded out 15 pars to go along with two bogeys and one birdie. With the help of playing the par 4s 1-over throughout the week, Wanamarta climbed the leaderboard for her best showing of the season and the seventh top 10 performance of her career (75-72-73—220).

The scoring average for the final round was 79.60, making Wanamarta's performance even more impressive. Sifat Sagoo fired a 78 (+6), while Ashley Kozlowski added a 79 (+7) to shoot below the field's final round scoring average. Kozlowski ended the tournament ranked seventh in par-3 scoring (+1).

The Boilermakers entered the day in eighth place, and that is where they stayed with a final round 312 (+24). Virginia Tech captured the team title at 16-over (289-293-298—880), finishing one stroke ahead of Texas Tech (+17) and four shots in front of No. 2 Oklahoma State (+20).

After spending Super Bowl Sunday and Valentine's Day in Florida, the Boilermakers waste no time returning to tournament play. Purdue heads to Texas for the ICON Invitational (Feb. 21-22), just outside of Houston, to complete competition for the month of February.
