Ballesteros, coming off a victory at the South American Amateur Open two weeks ago, found herself down two holes through the first four holes before battling back. The Lima, Peru, native won the fifth and eighth holes to even the match. After making the turn, a par on the 10th gave Ballesteros her first lead of the day. She dropped No. 12 but re-gained the advantage back on No. 13 and stayed in control for the remainder of the match. Claiming back-to-back holes, which included a birdie at the par-5 15th, Ballesteros secured a 3-and-2 win.
Putting the second point on the board for the Boilermakers, du Toit defeated Indiana's Aine Donegan 2-and-1. After falling 1-down following five holes, the Purdue senior caught fire and took the next four holes to make the turn 3-up. She maintained a multiple-hole cushion the rest of the way to cruise to victory.
Wanamarta and Bruch never trailed, making sure Purdue locked up the team match. Both Boilermakers won the second hole in their respective matches and kept the advantage. Wanamarta birdied the par-3 fourth hole, taking three holes in a four-hole stretch to go 3-up. Indiana's Margaret Fernandez tried to rally against the Purdue veteran, but Wanamarta claimed the 2-and-1 win.
In just her third tournament as a Boilermaker, Bruch turned in a dominating performance by winning her match 3-and-2. Starting on No. 3, the redshirt-freshman took the fourth before claiming holes 8-10 to move to 4-up with 10 holes to play. Limiting mistakes on the back side, Bruch never let her competitor back into the match.
Putting an exclamation point on the team victory over the Hoosiers, Thitapa Pakdeesettakul held on for a 1-up victory over Indiana's Mary Parsons. Pakdeesettakul lost her opening hole, No. 2, but after tying the par-4 third, she rattled off four straight holes to turn a deficit into a 3-up cushion. Parsons mounted a comeback on the back side, bring the match back to all square with three holes to play. However, a par at No. 17 put Pakedeesettakul back in front, and the Boilermaker parred her final two holes to secure the win.
