WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – No. 6 Purdue's (23-6, 15-5 B1G) nine-match winning streak came to an end in the regular season finale with a 3-1 (21-25, 10-25, 25-22, 15-25) final score vs. No. 11 Nebraska (21-7, 16-4 B1G). With the result, Purdue closes the season with 15 Big Ten wins and tied for third-place in the Big Ten standings, the best since 2011.
Senior setter Hayley Bush guided the team with 31 assists, seven digs and a career-high five total blocks, four of which came in the first set alone. Bush was just one dig shy of notching her 1,000th dig, which will make her just the second setter in program history to achieve the feat (joining Ashley Evans with 1,087 from 2014-17).
Producing a team-best .400 attack % was freshman Raven Colvin, who put down seven kills with just one error on 15 swings. The effort was complimented by seven block assists, marking the fifth time during conference action the middle blocker has produced as many.
Meanwhile, Caitlyn Newton posted a double-double with 11 kills and 12 digs in the set and Grace Cleveland put down 9 kills and seven digs.
Fans can tune in to ESPNU tomorrow at 8:30 p.m. ET for the NCAA Selection show to learn Purdue's postseason fate. Season ticket-holders are welcome to attend the team's watch party, which will be held in the Spurgeon Club in Mackey.
