WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Herman Sekne continued his red-hot play, earning medalist honors for the second straight event, helping the Purdue men's golf team to a runner-up finish at the Purdue Fall Invite.
The Boilermakers tallied a 54-hole total of 5-under par 859 (293-282-284) to finish just one shot behind Indiana (-6). Toledo was third at 1-over par 865, Kent State was fourth at 2-over par and Cincinnati rounded out the top five at 3-over par.
The event closes out the fall season for the Boilermakers with much success. Purdue won the Rich Harvest Farms Intercollegiate and finished in the top three in three of its four events this fall. Purdue ends the fall season with a 283.67 stroke average and a combined 28-under par score.
The story of the tournament was Sekne, who became the first Boilermaker since William Sjaichudin (won three straight) to win consecutive events, with a dominating individual performance.
