The program's 25-6 win in the second set was the program's most decisive set victory in the modern 25-point era.
As a team, Purdue hit a .456 clip, a season-best, with seven Boilermakers contributing kills. A total of four Boilermakers went errorless: Raven Colvin (9-0-10), Jael Johnson (7-0-12), Hayley Bush (4-0-6) and Maddie Koch (3-0-3). Meanwhile, Purdue had its strongest serving game of the season, dishing out nine aces, including a pair from Bush and Jena Otec.
In her first career start, freshman Raven Colvin hit .900 (9 kills, 0 errors on 10 attempts) for the second-highest hitting % in program history. The middle blocker only trails the Big Ten record-holders Debbie McDonald (13-0-13 vs. North Carolina State, 9/25/87) and Kristen Arthurs (10-0-10 vs. Ball State, 8/28/09) who both went perfect. Additionally, Colvin produced the most efficient match by a Big Ten player this season.
On the day, Colvin went errorless after serving up five kills on five swings in the matinee win vs. Jacksonville State.
The defensive effort was led by six total blocks, including a solo block from Johnson and three block assists apiece from Colvin and Newton. Meanwhile, Otec anchored the back row with 11 digs.
