MADISON, Wis. – Sweeping the day with a pair of 3-1 and 4-2 scores, Purdue softball improves to 17-25 on the season after a doubleheader at Wisconsin (18-20).

The day was highlighted by a career-high 11 strikeouts in Sydney Bates' complete-game victory in Game One and three home runs (Kiara Dillon, Rachel Becker and Kaitlyn Brannstrom) between the two games.
 
Game 1 | W, 3-1
Sydney Bates (7-6) dominated in the circle, pitching her way to a career-high 11 strikeouts in a complete game fashion. Not only did Bates open the game with four strikeouts in the first seven batters, the senior sent at least one batter back to the dugout in all seven innings.

Two home runs were recorded in the game by Dillon and Becker.

Dillon recorded her first career homer to put the Boilermakers on the board in the third inning. Then, just three batters later, Becker scored the game-winning run with Brannstrom's RBI to left center field. Becker followed up in the fifth inning with an insurance home run.
 
Game 2 | W, 4-2
The Boilermakers rolled its momentum into the second game of the day. Despite the Badgers putting up the first run, Purdue fought back to win the game, 4-2.

Relief pitcher Ashley Peters is credited with the win after pitching 3.1 innings of work and notching a pair of strikeouts.

Kaitlyn Brannstrom had a hand in three of Purdue's runs, registering three RBI, including a two-run double in the third and a home run in the fifth. Rachel Becker found home twice to lead the team.

In the win, the Boilermakers out-hit Wisconsin 8-5.
