NAPLES, Fla. – The Purdue men's golf team struggled on the final day of the Calusa Cup, finishing the event in eighth place.
The Boilermakers totaled a final round tally of 21-over par 309 on the difficult par-72 track to finish with a 54-hole total of 38-over par 902 (298-295-309), 43 shots behind champion and No. 2-ranked Oklahoma. Purdue was just 16 shots off the pace after two rounds, but couldn't get anything going in the final round.
Freshman Herman Sekne fired his third straight score of 1-over par 73 to finish tied for 15th at 3-over par 219 (73-73-73).
Joe Weiler and Cole Bradley tied for 23rd at 6-over par 222, both shooting final round scores of 4-over par 76.
Nick Dentino and Peyton Snoeberger tied for 46th at 26-over par 242.
Purdue will host the Boilermaker Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at the Kampen Course. Admission to the event is free.
