<br /><br />NAPLES, Fla. – The Purdue men's golf team had another strong finish on the back nine to remain in seventh place after 36 holes at the Calusa Cup, hosted by the University of Iowa at Calusa Pines Golf Club.

NAPLES, Fla. – The Purdue men's golf team had another strong finish on the back nine to remain in seventh place after 36 holes at the Calusa Cup, hosted by the University of Iowa at Calusa Pines Golf Club.
 
The Boilermakers totaled a second-round tally of 7-over par 295 on the difficult par-72 track to finish the second in seventh place out of nine teams, 16 shots behind leader and No. 2-ranked Oklahoma.
 
Despite having just nine teams in the field, the event is considered one of the nation's premier collegiate golf competitions. Four of the nation's top seven, and five of the top 15, teams nationally are in the field.
 
Oklahoma leads at 1-over par 577, and is followed by No. 41 Georgia Tech (+2), No. 8 Texas (+3), No. 15 Florida (+5), No. 1 Florida State (+8) and No. 7 Wake Forest (+13). The Boilermakers own a 36-hole score of 17-over par 593 (298-295).
 
Joe Weiler paced the Boilermakers with another even-par 72, good for seventh place after 36 holes. Weiler was 2-over par through 11 holes, but played the last seven holes in 2-under par to record his second straight round of even-par.
 
Freshman Herman Sekne and Cole Bradley are tied for 14th at 2-over par 146. Sekne recorded his second straight round of 73, playing the last six holes in 3-under par. Bradley fired an even-par 72, also playing his last six holes in 3-under par, recording three straight birdies on holes 12 through 14.
 
Nick Dentino is tied for 44th (+15) and Peyton Snoeberger is 46th (+16).
 
The final round is on Tuesday, with tee times starting at 7:40 a.m. ET.
