AWENDAW, S.C. – After a break that lasted over a month, the Purdue men's golf team returned to action with success, posting a 3-under par 285 to sit in fourth place after 18 holes at the Hootie Intercollegiate at Bulls Bay Golf Club.
 
The Boilermakers are seven shots behind leader Kent State (-10; 278) and trail just Missouri (-6; 282) and seventh-ranked Auburn (-5; 283). Purdue is fourth at 3-under par 285, leading Wisconsin by one shot, the College of Charleston and North Carolina State by two shots and South Carolina by three shots.
 
Leading the way after 18 holes was sophomore Nick Dentino and Cole Bradley with opening-round 70s, good for T-7th after the first round.
 
Joe Weiler is tied for 16th with an opening-round 71, while freshman Herman Sekne and Peyton Snoeberger recorded 74s, good for T-49th.
 
Andrew Farraye, playing as an individual, shot an opening-round 77.
 
Purdue will be paired with Wisconsin and North Carolina State in Monday's second round, teeing off at 9:45 a.m. ET.
