SUNSET, S.C. – The women's golf team finished tied for seventh out of 18 schools after the final round of the Clemson Invitational concluded Sunday morning. With play suspended Saturday due to weather, the Boilermakers wrapped up the final four holes of the third round Sunday to finish 24-over par 888 as a team in the 54-hole tournament. Purdue carded its lowest round of the weekend in the third, finishing 3-over 291 collectively.
Individually, junior Thitapa Pakdeesettakul birdied three of her final four holes Sunday and finished the tournament in a tie for 14th among the field. She shot a 3-under 69 in the final round and carded a three-round tally of 3-over 219 (75+75+69=219). It marked her third top 20 finish of the year.
Junior Danielle du Toit (77+70+73=220) and sophomore Sifat Sagoo (71+76+73=220) tied for 24th overall, with each shooting a 4-over 220 over the 54 holes.
Kent State, which led the event wire-to-wire, took the team title with a 12-under 852. The Golden Flashes' Caley McGinty won medalist honors with a three-round score of 10-under 206.
The Boilermakers return to action April 17-18 at the Indiana Invitational in Bloomington, Indiana.
