LEESBURG, Fla. – Despite a home run by Rachel Becker in the fifth inning, Purdue softball (4-8) could not overcome a three-run deficit created in the second inning by Nebraska (6-6). With the 3-1 outcome, the Boilermakers close out the Big Ten bubble tournament in Leesburg, Florida.

The day was highlighted by Rachel Becker's first home run of the season and second of her career.

As a team, Purdue recorded six hits and 21 putouts, including four double plays. In the circle, senior Sydney Bates recorded her second loss of the season after pitching 6.1 innings of work and tossing two strikeouts.

The Boilermakers most dangerous opportunity came in the bottom of the first after loading the bases with just one out on the board, however the Nebraska defense was adamant, keeping the Purdue from capitalizing on their chance to get out to an early lead.
