ORLANDO, Fla. – The women's golf team moved up four spots at the UCF Challenge on Tuesday, finishing the tournament 10th in the team standings after 54 holes. After posting a 6-over par team round Sunday and a 9-over score Monday, the Boilermakers rallied for a 4-over par 294 Tuesday.
In the individual standings, freshman Sifat Sagoo and junior Inez Wanamarta tied for 28th, both posting 54-hole scores of 4-over par 220. Wanamarta (74-73-73) shot a 1-over 73 for a second consecutive day, while Sagoo (72-73-74) carded a 2-over 74 in the final round.
Freshman Kan Bunnabodee (76-75-73) lowered her score for a third straight day, finishing the final 18 holes 1-over at 73.
Sophomore Thitapa Pakdeesettakul (75-78-72) shot an even-par 72 Tuesday to round out her first tournament with the Boilermakers.
Virginia took the team title in Orlando, posting a 54-hole tally of 5-under 859. Houston's Karen Fredgaard was the individual medalist, carding a three-day score of 7-under par 209.
Purdue returns to action Sunday when it hosts the inaugural ARLTWF Heroes Ladies Intercollegiate at Founders Golf Club in Sarasota, Florida. The three-day event takes the place of the annual Lady Puerto Rico Classic previously hosted by the Boilermakers.
