KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – Freshman Herman Sekne totaled a 54-hole score of 10-under par 206 to lead Purdue to a seventh-place finish at the competitive Kiawah Invitational held at the Kiawah Island Resort's Oak Point Golf Club.
 
Sekne finished tied for fourth with rounds of 70-67-69, becoming one of seven players in school history to shoot 70 or lower in all three rounds.
 
The Boilermakers finished the 54-hole event in seventh place at 12-under par 852 (288-277-287), marking just the ninth time that Purdue has been at even or under par in all three rounds of tournament play.
 
Wake Forest won the tournament, which featured seven Big Ten teams, at 37-under par 827. Clemson, Kentucky and East Tennessee State rounded out the top four. UNC Wilmington and Iowa finished tied for fifth at 14-under par, two shots ahead of Purdue.
 
The Boilermakers defeated Big Ten opponents Ohio State, Wisconsin, Rutgers, Michigan State and Maryland.
 
Peyton Snoeberger pieced together three solid rounds to place tied for 28th at 2-under par 214 (72-72-70). Cole Bradley shot even-par 216 (72-70-74), good for a tie for 35th.
 
Joe Weiler (219) and Nick Dentino (223) finished tied for 46th and tied for 64th, respectively.
 
Andrew Farraye finished tied for 70th, playing as an individual.
 
Purdue will now be off for over a month as its next competition will be at the Hootie at Bulls Bay in Charleston, S.C., on March 28 to 30.
