JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Joe Weiler recorded his third career top-5 finish with a fourth-place showing at the Timuquana Collegiate held at the Timuquana Country Club.
Weiler recorded rounds of 67-66-75 to finish the 54-hole event in a tie for fourth at 8-under par 208. The 208 tally is tied for the 19th-lowest, 54-hole score in Purdue history.
However, the Boilermakers struggled as a team in two of the three rounds and finished tied for ninth at 2-under par 862 (291-278-293). The field consisted of six schools from Florida as well as national powers Liberty, Virginia, Oklahoma State and Notre Dame.
Playing in his home city, Andrew Farraye finished tied for 29th at even-par 216 (76-70-70), finishing the event with two strong rounds.
Freshman Herman Sekne (73-74-70) and Cole Bradley (74-70-73) finished tied for 33rd at 1-over par 217. Sekne was playing as an individual.
Peyton Snoeberger was 49th at 5-over 221 (74-72-75), while Nick Dentino was tied for 69th at 11-over par 227 (76-74-77).
Purdue's next action will come on Feb. 5 and 6, at the Big Ten Match Play Championship in Palm Coast, Florida.
