MADISON, Wis. – Relay and springboard diving sweeps for the Purdue men highlighted a full day of events as the Boilermakers competed against Minnesota and Wisconsin at a Big Ten triple dual meet Saturday.

Nikola Aćin was victorious in the 50 freestyle, added runner-up honors in the 100 free, and joined Trent Pellini and Ryan Hrosik as Boilermakers to contribute to the victories in both the 200 medley and 400 free relays.

Greg Duncan and Brandon Loschiavo teamed up for the springboard diving sweep. Already a two-time Big Ten champion on the 10-meter platform, Loschiavo demonstrated his versatility with a victory on 3-meter. He also finished second to Duncan on 1-meter, joining Aćin as the only Boilermakers with an event victory and runner-up showing in another Saturday.

Aćin made an early statement with a 50 free anchor split of 18.78. While winning the 50 free individually, the junior's time of 19.53 was just .02 hundredths of a second shy of his third-fastest time in program history. He capped his big day with a team-best split of 43.25 on the leadoff leg of the victorious 400 free relay, posting another team season best and NCAA provisional qualifying time (B Cut). Nick Sherman clinched the victory in the final event of the day with an anchor split of 43.43.

Kate Beavon (9:56.05, 9th in 1,000 free), Masy Folcik (1:01.79. 11th in 100 breast) and Pellini (47.81, 12th in 100 fly) all posted career-best times that rank among the Purdue all-time leaders.

The Boilermakers had three of the top five finishers in six events – the men's 50, 100 and 200 free plus the 100 breaststroke, and both women's springboard diving events.

Purdue is idle from competition next weekend before returning to action Saturday, Feb. 6 when it hosts Indiana and the Rutgers women for the final Big Ten dual meet of the abbreviated season.
