SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The second round of the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate was suspended to darkness, as Purdue sits in fourth place with just three cumulative holes to play in the second round.
With just three holes to play in round two (one hole by Nick Dentino, two by Jason Hong), the Boilermakers are in fourth at 11-over par. Purdue's recorded a 1-under par 287 in the opening round, before the wind picked up and scores sky-rocketed in round two. The Boilermakers' current round-two score of 12-over par is the fourth-best score of the round.
Vanderbilt leads at 17-under par, and is followed by Mississippi State (-5) and Northwestern (-3).
Leading the Boilermakers is Joe Weiler in eighth place at 2-under par 142 (68-74). In round one, Weiler birdied five of his last 11 holes for a 68, sitting in a second-place tie after 18 holes.
Jason Hong is tied for 16th at 3-over par, recording an opening-round 72.
Nick Dentino is tied for 22nd at 5-over par with one hole to play in round two, shooting a 1-over par 73 in the first round.
Playing as an individual, Peyton Snoeberger is tied for 24th at 6-over par 150 (76-74). Among players that completed their second rounds, Snoeberger is just one of six players to shoot better in the second round than first.
Andrew Farraye is tied for 37th at 9-over par 153 (78-75), joining Snoeberger as one of the six players with a better second round.
Cole Bradley is tied for 66th at 18-over par 162 (74-88).
