WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Zala Dovnik picked up a tightly contested win Saturday but it was not enough as the Purdue women's tennis team fell to Oklahoma 6-1.
Purdue pushed hard in the opening doubles point, but to no prevail. At No. 2, Seira Shimizu and Nikol Dobrilova pushed the No.14-ranked pair in the country of Jasmine Asghar and Oleksandra Korashvili to a score of 4-4 when competition was halted.
In singles play, the Boilermakers tried to get a foothold on the Sooners, but it was not enough.
At No. 5, Dovnik picked up the lone Boilermaker win thanks to a hard fought 10-point tiebreak knocking off Camila Romero in a three-set grudge match 5-7, 6-2, 10-8.
