THE WOODLANDS, Texas –
Paced by impressive top 10 performances from freshmen Sifat Sagoo and Kan Bunnabodee, the women's golf team finished second at the ICON Invitational on Tuesday. The Boilermakers' team score of 3-under par 861 (289-288-284) is the lowest 54-hole tally of the season and the 13th-lowest in program history.

The Boilermakers, who have finished second at the ICON Invitational each of the last three seasons, placed ahead of the nine schools in the 2020 field that call the Lone Star State home, including No. 1 Texas, No. 23 Texas Tech and ICON hosts Houston.

Sagoo, who posted her first career top 10 finish two weeks ago at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic, wrapped up the ICON Invitational second in the individual standings with a career-low 54-hole score of 6-under par 210 (71-71-68). In the final round Tuesday, Sagoo tied her career-low with a 4-under par 68, carding four birdies while playing bogey-free. She finished the invitational with nine birdies, while making par on 204 of the 216 holes she played.

Sagoo's 54-hole score at The Woodlands Country Club tied for the 11th-lowest by a Boilermaker in school history and was the first by a Purdue player since teammate Danielle du Toit shot 6-under par at the Ilini Women's Invitational last season.

Bunnabodee ended Tuesday's round with an even-par 72 to give her a three-round total of 1-under par 215 (75-68-72), which was enough for a tie for ninth in the individual standings. It was her first career top 10 finish and her second straight in the top 25 of a tournament. Bunnabodee has shot 1-under par 215 in two of the three collegiate tournaments she has played in since enrolling at Purdue in January.

Senior Micaela Farah ended Tuesday with a 1-under par 71 to leave her at even-par 216 (72-73-71) over the 54 holes and in a tie for 12th in the individual standings. It was her first top 20 finish of the season and the 17th of her career.

Du Toit rounded out the scoring for the Boilermakers, ending up tied for 35th with a three-round total of 5-over par 221 (71-77-73).

Fifth-ranked Kent State, which was tied with Purdue for the ICON lead heading into Tuesday's final round, ran away with the team title with a blistering 11-under 277 in the final round. Tulsa's Lorena Tseng was the individual medalist, edging out Sagoo by one stroke with a 7-under 209.

Purdue returns to action March 14-15 at the Valspar Augusta Invitational in Augusta, Georgia.
