IOWA CITY, Iowa Purdue's Emily Bretscher ripped three 66-point dives to win the 3-meter event and become a conference champion for the first time Friday at the Big Ten Championships.

Bretscher was victorious by 20 points with a list score of 356.75. She registered her 66-point dives in rounds 3, 5 and 6. The junior also won bronze on 1-meter Thursday and has now competed in five career championship finals at Big Tens.

On the same night that alumna Casey Matthews was inducted into the Purdue Athletics Hall of Fame, Bretscher became Purdue women's swimming & diving's first Big Ten champion since Matthews won on 1-meter in 2014. Fellow Hall of Famer Carrie McCambridge is the only other Purdue woman to win a Big Ten title on 3-meter (2004).

Also on Friday, Mallory Jump eclipsed the Purdue freshman record in the 100 butterfly in both the prelims and finals. Her time of 53.31 improved upon her sixth-fastest mark in program history. Jinq En Phee (100 breast) and Jump both won B finals.

Jump has now eclipsed three freshman records this season after also breaking the 100 backstroke and 200 individual medley marks at the Purdue Invitational in November.

In an IM event, Natalie Myers posted a career-best showing and all-time top five time in program history for the second night in a row. She improved on her fourth-fastest mark in the record book with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 4:15.66.

Myers and Jump were among the seven Boilermakers to register career bests coupled with scoring finishes Friday.

All four divers scored in the featured springboard event for the second day in a row, accounting for a 47 points on 3-meter. They racked up 100 points in the springboard events this season, with Saturday's platform competition likely to be their best.

Led by Maizie Seidl's third-place showing in the B final, the 200 free was Purdue's top-scoring individual swimming event Friday. Seidl, Kendra Bowen and Gretta DeCoursey accounted for a combined 32 points.

Dating back to 2015, Boilermakers have won three Big Ten titles and two NCAA championships at Iowa's pool. Lyam Dias (200 breaststroke in 2015), Brandon Loschiavo (platform diving in 2019) and now Bretscher have accounted for the Big Ten titles. Steele Johnson also won a pair of national titles in 1-meter and platform diving at the 2015 NCAA Championships.

The Big Ten Championships conclude Saturday with prelims at noon ET and finals at 7:30 p.m. ET.
