Clermont, Fla. – Purdue ended The Spring Games tournament with a 9-3 victory versus Central Michigan before falling 3-1 in eight innings to UConn.

With the results, Purdue moves to 8-3 on the season after producing a 3-3 weekend between the Madeira Beach and Clermont locations.

Ashley Peters secured the first win of her collegiate career following 3.2 innings of work and four hits versus CMU. Meanwhile, in relief, Brenna Smith pitched 3.1 innings with no runs allowed in the save.

Kasey Wilhoit led the day with two runs in the win. Meanwhile, a total of eight Boilermakers scored versus CMU.

Madison Douglass (.391 batting average) produced the lone home run of the day, on a hit to center field in the second inning against UConn to push the game to extras. Additionally, the designated hitter produced one run and two RBI on a pair of appearances at the plate.

Delaney Bowen put the exclamation point on game one, notching the first RBI of her collegiate career.
