MADEIRA BEACH, Fla. – A pair of home runs by Madison Douglass and Skye Webb propelled the Boilermakers (7-2) to 7-0 victory against South Dakota (3-6). The win closes out a 1-1 day for Purdue, which suffered a 7-5 loss to Monmouth (2-1) to open the day.
 
The South Dakota shutout marks the second consecutive weekend Purdue has held an opponent scoreless, however the three hits allowed the opponent season-low (vs. NIU, 2/7).
 
Junior pitcher Sydney Bates secured the victory to improve to 5-0 on the season. The Boilermaker tallied 10 strikeouts vs. South Dakota, marking just the second double-digit effort since the beginning of the 2019 season and tying her game-high from a year ago.
 
Two Boilermakers recorded a home run on the day: Madison Douglass (vs. South Dakota) and Skye Webb (vs. South Dakota).
