Boilermakers Drop ITA Kickoff Opener

<br /><br />The Boilermakers will look to bounce back Sunday at 10 a.m.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Purdue women's tennis team suffered its first setback of the 2020 season Saturday afternoon for ITA Kickoff Weekend. The Boilermakers dropped the contest at No. 13 South Carolina 4-0.

After a delay of more than two hours, Purdue could not grab a foothold in singles or doubles, as the Gamecocks won their four points in straight sets.

Nathalia Wolf Gasparin was rallying from a set down at No. 5 when play was concluded with a 2-1 lead in the second.

Purdue will look to bounce back in the consolation match Sunday morning at 10 a.m. against Wisconsin or Georgia Tech.
