<br /><br />WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue women's tennis team remained perfect on the season with a pair of victories over Miami University and Butler on Monday. The Boilermakers improved to 3-0 on the year and rarely missed a beat in their first doubleheader of the campaign, winning 14 of 17 completed matches on the day.

PURDUE vs. MIAMI
For the first time this season, Purdue had to rally from a point down against Miami (1-2), but the Boilermakers posted a strong singles session to top the RedHawks 5-2.  

The Boilermakers found themselves trailing after the opening doubles point. Purdue struck first at No. 3 doubles, as Nathalia Wolf Gasparin and Zala Dovnik blanked Makenzie Myers and Melati Devi 6-0. The RedHawks responded with 6-2 and 6-3 wins at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, to go up 1-0.

Ena Babic started the Boilermakers' comeback at No. 1 with a 6-3, 6-0 win in straight sets against Brindtha Ramasamy. At No. 3, Alex Sabe made quick work of Milana Lysova to win 6-3, 6-1, which gave Purdue the lead.

Dovnik put the Boilermakers within one point of clinching the match at No. 5 in a 6-2, 6-2 decision against Myers. For the second straight match, Csilla Fodor gave Purdue the win with a 6-4, 6-0 sweep of Priyana Kalita at No. 6.

Seira Shimizu added the final point of the afternoon, outlasting Melati Devi in a tie break to win 6-2, 7-6(5) at No. 6.

PURDUE vs. BUTLER
Playing their second match of the day, the Boilermakers showed few signs of fatigue in a shutout 7-0 victory against Butler (2-2).

Purdue opened strong to take the doubles point. Gasparin and Dovnik cruised to their second shutout win of the day at No. 2, a 6-0 win over Logan White and Sara Linn. Babic and Fodor put the hosts up 1-0 with their 6-2 win over Emily Neal and Kendal Wilby at No. 3.

Dovnik quickly gave the Boilermakers a 2-0 edge in the match with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 5 against Linn. Nikol Dobrilova followed suit minutes later in a 6-2, 6-0 decision over Lauryn Padgett at No. 2.

Fodor notched her third match-clinching victory of the campaign with a solid 6-1, 6-0 win over Nina Bertino at No. 4.

The Boilermakers added to the lead with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 1 by Babic against Logan White, before Seira Shimizu downed Neal in straight sets 6-2, 6-3 at No. 5. Zeynep Naz Ozturk closed out the proceedings with the first win of her career, a 7-5, 6-2 victory against Hallie Leblebijian at No. 6.
