INDIANAPOLIS – Purdue divers Emily Bretscher and Greg Duncan both finished second in a springboard event among a 27-diver preliminary field Saturday at the House of Champions Invitational on the campus of IUPUI.
Emily Meaney (6th), Ben Bramley (7th) and Maycey Vieta (8th) were also finalists Saturday. The women competed on 1-meter and the men competed on 3-meter.
Duncan finished second to Miami's Max Flory by just .05 hundredths of a point – 384.20 to 384.15. Flory also scored a narrow victory over Bramley on platform Friday.
Bretscher and Duncan both improved their list scores from the prelim to the final. Bretscher's list score rose 17.3 points from 293.35 to 310.65. She posted a team season-best mark in the final. Duncan enjoyed a 6.65-point list score improvement from 377.50 to 384.15.
Bramley (365.50) and Vieta (277.90) posted personal season bests in the prelims of their events Saturday.
Sunday's schedule features the men competing on 1-meter and the women on 3-meter. Action begins at 12:30 p.m. ET.
