MEDINAH, Ill. – The Purdue women's golf team finished 11th at the Illini Invitational at Medinah Country Club on Tuesday. The Boilermakers carded a nine-over 297 in the third round to finish 22-over at 886 for the 54-hole event.
After opening the first and second rounds Monday with back-to-back even-par rounds of 72, freshman Sifat Sagoo recorded a three-over 75 in the final round to close the invitational tied for 28th with a total of 219.
Senior Micaela Farah finished one stroke behind Sagoo after 54 holes, recording a one-over 73 on Tuesday for a three-round total of 220 (74-73-73) and a tie for 34th in the individual standings.
Junior Inez Wanamarta posted the Boilermakers' lowest third round score with an even-par 72 score Tuesday. Wanamarta balanced two early bogies with a pair of birdies and 14 pars on the day. Her three-round total of 223 (75-76-72) placed her in a tie for 47th individually.
Sophomore Danielle du Toit finished tied for 62nd with a three-round score of 227 (75-72-80) and Lauren Guiao carded a 77 Tuesday to finish in a tie for 71st at 229 overall (76-76-77).
Fifth-ranked Kent State won the invitational team title with an 11-under 853. Mississippi's Kennedy Swann took the individual title with a nine-under 207.
The Boilermakers return to action for their final event of the fall Oct. 25-27 at the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C.
