Boilermakers Fall Short to No. 21 Ohio State

<br /><br />Purdue women's tennis fell to No. 21 Ohio State 4-2 on Friday. 

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Purdue women's tennis fell to No. 21 Ohio State 4-2 on Friday at the Varsity Tennis Center.

The Boilermakers came out strong against the ranked Buckeyes, claiming the doubles point. No. 45 Silvia Ambrosio and Amina Mukhametshina defaeted Kollie Allen and Shiori Fukuda 6-4. Zala Dovnik and Alex Sabe secured the doubles point with their victory over Andrea Ballinger and Luna Dormet 6-4. 

No. 30 Ambrosio took down No. 54 Isabelle Boulais at the No. 1 spot 6-2, 6-4 for the only Boilermaker singles victory.

Mukhametshina fought Danielle Wolf at the No. 4 spot winning the second set 6-4 before ending unfinished 6-0, 4-6, 2-0.

The Boilermaker road trip will continue Sunday at Penn State beginning at noon ET.
