PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – The Purdue men's golf team struggled on the opening day of the John Hayt Invitational, sitting in a 14th-place tie after 36 holes.
The Boilermakers recorded rounds of 309 and 298 for a 36-hole total of 31-over par 607. Louisville and North Carolina lead at even-par 576.
Timmy Hildebrand leads Purdue in 37th place at 5-over par 149 (76-73). Andrew Lewis and Jarle Volden are at 9-over par 153, Cole Bradley at 10-over par 154 and Joe Weiler at 14-over par 158.
The final round will begin Monday at 8:43 a.m. ET, off hole No. 10 at the Sawgrass Country Club.
