Norman, Okla. - Purdue women's tennis team fell to No. 28 Oklahoma 4-2 on Sunday.
The Boilermakers (5-6) started off strong against the Sooners (7-3) securing the doubles point with two big doubles wins. The senior duo of Silvia Ambrosio and Amina Mukhametshina defeated Ivana Corley and Jasmine Ashgar 6-3 at the No. 1 spot. Junior Caitlin Calkins and sophomore Ena Babic defeated Martina Capurro and Camile Romero in the tie breaker 7-6(3) to win the doubles point for Purdue.
In singles play, Zala Dovnik deafeated Skyler Miller 6-2, 6-3.
Calkins defeated Kianah Motosono in the second set 7-6(7) before ending unfinished, 4-6, 7-6(5), 1-4.
The Boilermakers will be back in action Saturday at the Schwartz Tennis Center to take on the Fighting Illini at noon ET. The match will have free pizza and schedules.
