AWENDAW, S.C. – The Purdue men's golf team wrapped up play at the Hootie at Bulls Bay, finishing 11th with a 54-hole total of 5-over par 869.

The Boilermakers pieced together their best round of the tournament in round three, shooting a 3-under par 285 to move up three spots into 11th place. Purdue, however, just couldn't climb any further in round three after starting its round in strong fashion.

South Carolina won the event at 22-under par 842, while Kansas (-15) was second and College of Charleston (-10) was third.

Purdue was led by freshman Andrew Lewis, who recorded a career-best 29th-place finish at even-par 216 (72-74-70). Jarle Volden was 32nd at 1-over par 217 (71-76-70).

Timmy Hildebrand finished tied for 34th at 3-over par 219 (74-73-72), Cole Bradley was 46th at 5-over par 221 (74-74-73) and Joe Weiler was 57th at 7-over par 223 (72-74-77).

Purdue's next action will be Sunday and Monday, March 31 to April 1, at the John Hayt Invitational at Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
