No. 77 doubles partners Silvia Ambrosio and Amina Mukhmetshina defeated Clarissa Hand and Lee Or 6-3.
Caitlin Calkins and Ena Babic took their doubles match against Julie Byrne and Hannah McColgan into the tie breaker before falling 7-6(6-0).
At the No. 1 singles spot, No. 31 Ambrosio defeated Hand 6-4, 6-4.
Babic defeated Byrne 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 at the No. 2 spot for the Boilermakers.
Calkins fought hard in singles, winning the first set 6-1, and took the second set to the tie breaker before falling to Carol Finke 6-1, 6-7(4-0), 2-6.
Zala Dovnik won her first set against Rheeya Doshi before losing 6-1, 4-6, 0-6.
The Boilermakers (5-8, 0-2) are back home March 22 at Schwartz at noon to take on Michigan.
