WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - In true Boilermaker fashion, junior Alex Sabe made sure the women's tennis team completed a successful weekend.
Her 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 victory over Mila Sirac at No. 4 singles cinched a 4-3 Purdue win over William & Mary on Sunday at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center.
The Boilermakers, who edged Virginia Tech by the same score Friday, now are 5-1 this season.
Other wins over the Tribe came from Zala Dovnik over Victoria Okuyama 6-2, 6-3; Silvia Ambrosio over Rosie Cheng 6-3, 7-6; and Ena Babic over Clara Tanielian 7-5, 7-6 (7).
William & Mary (1-4) won the doubles point to take the early advantage. Ambrosio and Amina Mukhametshina defeated Cheng and Lauren Goodman 6-2.
The Boilermakers next play Feb. 13 at Notre Dame.
