BLACKSBURG, Va. - Purdue women's tennis improved to 4-1 this season with a 4-3 victory at Virginia Tech on Friday.
The match game down to sophomore Seira Shimizu on Court 3, and she defeated Nina Sorkin 6-3, 3-6, 7-5.
Other singles winners for the Boilermakers were Alex Sabe 6-4, 6-1 over Rita Pinto and Ena Babic 6-4, 6-3 over Nika Kozar.
Purdue won the doubles point. Zala Dovnik and Babic blanked Annie Clark and Emily Pence 6-0, while Silvia Ambrosio and Amina Mukhametshina defeated Kozar and Sorkin 6-4.
