WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue women's tennis team fell 4-0 to a tough Washington State team Saturday at the Schwartz Tennis Center.
The Cougars (8-1) claimed the doubles point with Silvia Ambrosio and Amina Mukhametshina leading Tiffany Mylonas and Hikaru 5-4 in an unfinished match at No. 1.
In singles, at the No. 1 spot, Michela Bayerlova defeated Ambrosio 6-2, 6-1. Seira Shimizu lost to Tiffany Myonlas 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 3 spot. The final decision came at No. 4, where Savanna Ly-Nyugen defeated Alex Sabe 6-1, 6-1.
Three singles matches were left unfinished. Caitlin Calkins won her first set against Aneta Miksovska 6-2.
The Boilermakers (5-3) are back in action at Tennessee on Saturday. The match starts at 11 a.m. ET.
