WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Nine members of Purdue women's swimming are set to post personal season-best times in their races this weekend at the two-day, 13-team Ohio State Winter Invite.

At least six individual events and two relays are on the schedule for both days of competition at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion. Prelims are slated for 11 a.m. ET both Saturday and Sunday. Finals are at 5 p.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday. As is customary at invitational meets, relays and the mile are finals-only events.

The Boilermakers will be represented in Columbus by Caylee Casbon, Anna Giesler, Roxy Griffore, Katie Hughes, McKenna Jule, Kelsey Macaddino, Paige Miller, Angela Pan and Cally Sampson.

Team scoring is traditionally not stressed at the Ohio State Winter Invite. Over 100 student-athletes are slated to compete this weekend. Among the 12 visiting expected to have swimmers in attendance, Akron, Kentucky, Miami (Ohio), Notre Dame and Pitt are all sending at least a dozen student-athletes.

Ohio State's aquatic center features a 10-lane competition pool. About a month ago, the Boilermakers competed in a six-lane pool at Michigan State.

Last season, Maizie Seidl enjoyed a breakout performance at the Ohio State Winter Invite. She posted NCAA provisional qualifying times (B Cuts) in the 100 and 200 freestyle, winning the 200 en route to earning Big Ten Swimmer of the Week honors and a roster spot at the Big Ten Championships. She ended up helping the 800 free relay team qualify for the NCAA Championships.

The Boilermakers earned 15 second swims in A finals at the 2018 Ohio State Winter Invite. Miller took third overall in the mile and Sampson was fourth in the 200 backstroke. Giesler also won the B final of the 200 free.

Sampson (backstroke) and Giesler (breaststroke) were among the Boilermakers to post career-best times at the 2017 Ohio State Winter Invite. They were A finalists in both of their primary events, leading the way as Purdue earned 10 berths in A finals of individual events as a team. Sampson also earned a spot on the roster for the Big Ten Championships with her performance.
