SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Purdue women's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to Notre Dame on Wednesday at the Eck Tennis Pavilion.
The Fighting Irish (5-2) secured the doubles point in two matches. Notre Dame's Zoe Taylor and Ally Bojczuk defeated Zala Dovnik and Ena Babic 6-2. Bess Waldram and Cameron Corse defeated the Boilermakers' Silvia Ambrosio and Amina Mukhametshina 6-4.
Singles play featured Ambrosio at the No. 1 spot, followed by Babic, Seira Shimizu, Alex Sabe, Mukhametshina and Caitlin Calkins.
Notre Dame's Spence defeated Ambrosio 6-2, 6-4.
Shimizu lost to Waldram 7-5, 6-1.
The final point came when Corse topped Sabe 6-4, 6-2.
In abandoned matches, Babic won her opening set 7-5 over Bojczuk, while Calkins split two sets against Maeve Koscielski.
The Boilermakers (5-2) are back in action Saturday against Washington State. Action at the Schwartz Tennis Center begins at noon ET.
