PRINCEVILLE, Hawai'i The Purdue men's golf team struggled in the second round at the Warrior Makai Invitational, falling six spots into 10th place entering tomorrow's final round.

The Boilermakers totaled a 5-over par 293 for a 36-hole total of 2-under par 574 (281-293) to sit in 10th place, 17 shots behind leader and 11th-ranked Pepperdine. The Boilermakers are within striking distance of a top-five finish, just seven shots behind Louisville and Loyola Marymount, both at 9-under par, but must rebound after late struggles in round two dropped them off the pace.

Beginning on hole No. 1, Purdue's five were 4-under par through 12 holes, but then played holes 13 through 18 in 11-over par to fall back into the middle of the pack.

Sophomore Joe Weiler leads the Boilermakers at 1-under par 143 (70-73), good for a 34th-place tie after 36 holes. Classmate Jason Hong is tied for 38th at even-par 144 (70-74).

Timmy Hildebrand (71-74), Jarle Volden (70-75) and Cole Bradley (73-72) are all tied for 45th at 1-over par 145.

Playing as an individual, Andrew Lewis is tied for 80th at 5-over par 149 (70-79).

Purdue closes out the event with tomorrow's third round and is paired with Ole Miss, Louisiana and Utah Valley off hole Nos. 7 through 10.
