LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Timmy Hildebrand recorded his second top-10 finish of the season, but the Purdue men's golf team struggled in all three rounds and finished T-12th at the Windon Memorial Classic.
The Boilermakers finished T-12th with a 54-hole total of 22-over par 886 (294-296-296) at the par-72 Knollwood Club. Marquette (-4), Michigan State (-2) and Iowa State (+4) were the top-three team finishers while UC Davis' Thomas Hutchison was the individual medalist at 11-under par 205.
Hildebrand finished T-6th at 4-under par 212 (66-73-73), good for his second top-10 finish and third top-20 placing of the young season. He finished T-11th at the season-opening Gopher Invitational and T-6th at the Fighting Illini Invitational last weekend.
Hildebrand now owns nine career top-10 finishes, good for 11th in school history and four of his nine rounds this year have been in the 60s. He's had just one round this year higher than a 75.
Cole Bradley improved every round and finished T-24th with a 3-over par 219 (75-73-71). He now owns three rounds of even-par or better this year.
Sophomore Joe Weiler finished tied for 49th at 9-over par 225 (75-73-77), Matt Lloyd tied for 73rd (79-77-75) while Andrew Farraye was 84th at 20-over par 236 (78-77-81).
Thomas Lewis played as an individual and placed 78th at 16-over par 232 (75-77-80).
Purdue will be off until the FAMC Intercollegiate on Oct. 7 to 9, at the Grove Club in Cottage Grove, Tenn.
