WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue baseball scored four-plus runs in four different innings, matching the program's highest run total of the century in a 27-3 thrashing of Fort Wayne on Tuesday in the finale of a nine-game homestand at Alexander Field.
The Boilermakers (28-16) won their 12th consecutive game, taking sole possession of the longest active win streak in the country. Purdue won all nine games of its season-long homestand.
The Boilermakers can match the longest single-season win streak in program history with a victory Wednesday at Ball State. The Cardinals saw their seven-game win streak snapped Tuesday in a 5-3 loss at Miami (Ohio). Purdue's nine-game home win streak, the program's longest since 1989, will carry over to the May 15 midweek finale vs. Oral Roberts.
Alec Olund reached base safely five times, finishing the night 2-for-4 with two walks, three RBI and four runs scored. He also threw a runner out a runner at the plate from right field to end the seventh inning. Harry Shipley and Skyler Hunter both recorded a season-high four RBI. Tyler Powers registered three hits and three runs scored.
Andrew Bohm (2-0) struck out nine over 5 2/3 innings to match the season high by a Boilermaker. He retired 17 of the first 19 batters he faced and registered six strikeouts over a stretch of nine batters at one point.
Purdue's nine-run second inning was the team's biggest rally of the season. Fort Wayne (10-31) actually retired the first two Boilermakers of the inning. But the next 10 men to bat reached base safely. Olund walked to begin the rally and later capped the scoring with an RBI single. Milo Beam, Owen Jansen and Charlie Nasuti also reached base safely twice each in Purdue's eight-run eighth inning.

TUESDAY NOTABLES
The Boilermakers won 13 consecutive games in both 1993 and 2001.
The 27 runs were tied for the fourth most in program history as Purdue's biggest total since also scoring 27 in an April 2000 win vs. IUPUI. The Boilermakers had not scored 20 runs since a March 2015 win vs. Northern Illinois in Westfield, Indiana.
The Boilermakers drew 19 free passes, 15 walks and four hit batters. It was Purdue's first double-figure walk total since April 2016 vs. Michigan State (11) and the team's most since at least the start of the 2005 season.
The Boilermakers have scored at least four runs in an inning six times over the last three games.
Hunter has an RBI in five straight games, driving in 12 runs total during that stretch. He reached base safely for the 12th consecutive game Tuesday.
Shipley, Nick Dalesandro and Jacson McGowan also extended their lengthy reached base safely streaks. Shipley earned his way aboard for the 22nd consecutive game, matching Dalesandro for the longest career streak among active Boilermakers. Dalesandro's current streak was extended to 18 games and McGowan's reached 15 games. McGowan also drew a walk for the 10th straight game.

Mike Kornacker retired the final six batters of the game in order to finish off the win. He and Bohm were the only pitchers the Boilermakers used in the win.
