RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Purdue (6-22) dropped its final non-conference game of the season 3-0 to Idaho State (3-16) at UC Riverside's Amy S. Harrison Softball Field. Kaitlynn Moody delivered another solid outing, throwing seven innings and allowing just two earned runs.

The contest was a one-run game until the sixth inning when Idaho State was able to gain some separation with a pair of runs. Moody allowed just five hits and induced poor contact throughout as the infield recorded 15 outs. The performance gives the junior transfer a 2.03 ERA over the course of 20.2 innings of work, including two complete games.

Halle Hixenbaugh recorded her seventh hit of the weekend, giving her a .500 batting average in the UCR Classic in the nine spot for the Boilermakers. The sophomore transfer scored a pair of runs and drove in two runs as well.

Leadoff hitter Mallory Baker also registered a hit in the contest, giving her five hits and a .357 batting average on the weekend. The hit total matches freshman Ryleigh Scott's total for the tournament. She now has 30 hits on the year, leading all freshmen in the Big Ten.

Conference play begins at Bittinger Stadium on Friday, March 23 when Purdue hosts Illinois for a three-game series.
