Box Score (Pacific) // Box Score (UConn)
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Purdue (4-18) split day two competing at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex with a 2-1 win over Pacific (8-14) and a 7-1 loss to UConn (9-14). Kaitlynn Moody earned the complete game victory over the Tigers.
Moody struck out three and let her defense do the rest over the course of seven innings in which she allowed just one run on five hits. The left side of the infield was active throughout the contest as shortstop Halle Hixenbaugh recorded six assists and four putouts. Nothing was getting by Jenny Behan at third base either as she tallied five assists against Pacific.
Behan also worked a walk in the fourth with the bases loaded to score Hixenbaugh for the first run of the ballgame. Senior Maya Hughes drove in the game-winner later in the inning with an infield single that scored Mallory Baker who had reached on a single of her own.
With two hits in each game, Ryleigh Scott raised her batting average to .338 on the season with four hits on the day. Behan was responsible for Purdue's lone run against the Huskies as she took UConn deep in the first inning.
The Boilermakers finish their trip to the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex on Sunday with a 12:30 p.m. ET matchup against Drake University.
