COLUMBUS, Ohio - Divers Samm Reese and Morgan Meixner were both championship finalists again and the Boilermakers posted the second-fastest times in program history in a pair of races, highlighting Friday at the Big Ten Championships for Purdue women's swimming & diving.
Reese placed fourth on 3-meter with a career-best score (362.30) in the senior's final event at the Big Ten Championships. Meixner overcame a missed dive in the prelims to qualify for the championship final, where she too posted a career-best score (349.50) while finishing seventh. Reese moved up to eighth place in program history and Meixner now ranks 11th. They both championship finalists for the second day in a row and for the second year in a row on 3-meter. The springboard specialists teamed with Emily Bretscher (18th in prelims) to account for 62 team points in the 3-meter competition.
The Boilermakers remained in sixth place in the team scoring.

Taite Kitchel, Kaersten Meitz and Jinq En Phee were also A finalists Friday. Kitchel (52.91) and Phee (59.66) accounted for the second-fastest times in program history in the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke. Phee placed fifth while becoming just the second Boilermaker to break one minute in the 100 breast. Kitchel took seventh and is just the second Boilermaker to finish the 100 fly in under 53 seconds.
Meitz placed sixth in the A final of the 200 free after posting a Purdue season-best time of 1:45.23 in the prelims.
Emmy Rawson registered career-best times in both the prelims and finals of the 100 fly. She finished the day in fourth place in program history with a time of 53.06, which was good for a runner-up showing in the B final. Kitchel and Rawson teamed up to account for 40 points in the event Friday.
Three Purdue freshmen scored in the C final of the 200 free. Maizie Seidl (1:47.26), Megan Johnson (1:47.47) and Gretta DeCoursey (1:47.77) all recorded career-best times while moving into ninth, 10th and 12th place in program history.
Riley Kishman (100 breast, 1:02.19, 9th), Breanna Robinson (100 fly, 54.28, 9th) and Natalie Myers (400 IM, 4:20.29, 11th) also posted career-best times that rank among the fastest in Purdue history. Jackie Smailis (100 back) and Cady Farlow (100 breast) also scored in C finals. Smailis established a Purdue season-best time (53.60) in the prelims.
The Big Ten Championships conclude Saturday with prelims at 11 a.m. ET and finals at 6 p.m.
