WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - It's a big night for No. 22 wrestling Friday. It's Mackey Mayhem.

The Boilermakers (8-6, 2-5 B1G) welcome No. 19 Northwestern (8-4, 3-4) for a 7 p.m. ET dual, which will take place at Mackey Arena and be televised by BTN.

It's Senior Night - Jacob Morrissey and Luke Welch will be recognized - and Alumni Night.

The "All-American" Marching Band, including the Big Bass Drum, will be on hand. The first 500 fans will receive a free wrestling banner. Admission is free.

Purdue won its last two duals in convincing fashion, 28-6 over Michigan State at home Feb. 2 and 34-3 at Indiana on Feb. 4.

The Boilermakers wrap up the regular season Feb. 18 at Wisconsin. The Big Ten Championships are March 3 and 4 at East Lansing, Michigan.

Edwards Duo Named to Wooden Watch List

Senior forward Vincent Edwards and sophomore guard Carsen Edwards have been named to the late-season Wooden Award Top 20 watch list. Given annually to the nation's top player, the Wooden Award is considered one of college basketball's biggest honors.

The list will be trimmed to a final 15 national ballot in early March.

Purdue, Arizona and Villanova are the only schools with two players on the top-20 list.

In addition, Carsen Edwards is one of 10 finalists for the Jerry West Award, given to the nation's best shooting guard, and Vincent Edwards is one of 10 finalists for the Julius Erving Award, given to the nation's best small forward.

The No. 3 Boilermakers (23-3, 12-1 B1G) play at No. 4 Michigan State (23-3, 11-2) on Saturday. Purdue is tied for first place in the Big Ten with Ohio State, both a game ahead of Michigan State. It is the third game pitting top-5 teams in Purdue history.

Michigan State will pay tribute to its Hall of Fame coach, Jud Heathcote, who died in August. Former Purdue coach Gene Keady, a close friend of Heathcote, will be in attendance.

Next up for Women's Basketball: Indiana

Women's basketball (16-9, 7-4 B1G) returns to action Feb. 12, playing host to intrastate rival Indiana (13-12, 6-6) at 7 p.m. ET at Mackey Arena. Tickets are available here.

It is the Barn Burner Trophy Game - a series in which Purdue has won 18 of the 24 meetings, dating to the 1993-94 season - and a half-point in the Governor's Cup will be on the line. The Boilermakers currently lead the all-sports competition with the Hoosiers by a 5.5 to 4.0 margin.

Purdue is tied for fifth place in the Big Ten standings.

Softball Starts

Softball opens the 2018 season this weekend at the renowned Kajikawa Classic in Tempe, Arizona.

The Boilermakers will play five games: Arizona State and San Jose State on Friday, Western Michigan and South Dakota on Saturday, and Fresno State on Sunday.

Since the beginning of Arizona State softball in 1966, the Sun Devils annually have hosted the tournament currently known as the Kajikawa Classic. Purdue head coach Boo De Oliveira was an assistant at Arizona State in 2014 and 2015.

Purdue returns 14 letterwinners from last season, including junior Mallory Baker, an All-Midwest Region and All-Big Ten honoree. Four transfers and seven freshmen have joined the program.

Golf Begins, Too

Both golf teams are set to open their spring seasons.

The men play at the Big Ten Match Play Championship on Friday and Saturday in Palm Coast, Florida.

The event features two courses at the Hammock Beach Resort as all 14 teams will play the Ocean Course (par-72; 7,201 yards) and the Conservatory Course (par-72; 7,776 yards).

Purdue is the west's No. 3 seed and will open play against No. 5 west seed Iowa in Friday's opening round at 8 a.m. ET, then will face No. 3 east seed Michigan at 1:30 p.m. In Saturday's morning round, Purdue will square off against No. 4 west seed Minnesota.

At the conclusion of the three matches, teams will be ranked first through seventh and will play their final match against the team that has the same ranking in the opposite division in Saturday afternoon's competition.

The 19th-ranked women host the 16th-annual Lady Puerto Rico Classic, which runs Sunday through Tuesday at the Rio Mar Country Club River Course in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.

The tournament field includes four top-25 teams and seven of the top-50 ranked squads coming out of the fall.

Purdue head coach Devon Brouse is in his 20th season at his alma mater.

Baseball Fan Fest

On Saturday, the baseball team will hold its inaugural preseason fan fest at the Mollenkopf Athletic Center.

The free event will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. ET. Players will be assisting with myriad skill stations and other indoor activities for children, while also signing autographs.

Fans also can pick up the Boilermakers' "Sandlot"-inspired team poster, which was very well received when it was unveiled on social media last week.

Free parking is available in the F Lot, located east of Mollenkopf and north of Mackey Arena.

The Boilermakers open the season Feb. 16 at Baylor.
