WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue men's tennis team swept Sunday's doubleheader, defeating Nebraska 7-0 and Eastern Kentucky 6-1 on Senior Day at the Schwartz Tennis Center. The Boilermakers now sit at 5-4 in the Big Ten with two to go before the team hosts the conference tournament beginning April 27.

Purdue opened both matches with a pair of doubles wins. Against the Cornhuskers, Athell Bennett and Gergely Madarasz defeated Micah Klousia and David Samardzija 6-3 on court two, while Renan Hanayama and Stephan Koenigsfest bested Chris Dean and Rok Krizaj by the same score on the third.

The Boilermakers also made quick work on the Colonels as Ricky Medinilla and Benjamin Ugarte won 6-3 against Sebastian Mueller and Ramon van Flymen in the first position. Bennett and Koenigsfest then clinched the point with their 6-1 victory over Parth Aggarwal and Jan Kuehling on court two. Additionally, senior Matt Bouggy competed in what was likely his final home match of his career. The West Lafayette, Indiana, native paired with Madarasz against the Colonels on court three Sunday; their match was suspended, though, at the clinch.

In singles, Purdue went 11-1 between Nebraska and Eastern Kentucky. Notable wins include Lucas Omer Dages' court six victory against the Cornhuskers; the senior defeated Rok Krizaj 6-2, 6-3 in what was also likely his final home match of his career. Koenigsfest put on a clinic against the Colonels, shutting out Aggarwal 6-0, 6-0 on court four. Additionally, the freshman, Bennett, Madarasz and Ugarte all went 2-0 through the doubleheader.

The Boilermakers return to action Friday at Minnesota for a 4 p.m. ET match; the team then completes the regular season at Wisconsin on Sunday. First serve in that contest is scheduled for noon.
