BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Tim Barth, Hudson Bursch and Wesley McGovern all posted a team season-best time, highlighting the two-day Indiana First Chance meet for Purdue men's swimming.

Selected Boilermakers competed against swimmers from Indiana, Wabash and Centre College (Kentucky). The final two spots on Purdue's roster for the Big Ten Championships were being determined by performance at the First Chance meet. Those selections will be announced Monday.

The new Purdue season-best times were posted by McGovern in the 100 backstroke (48.00), Barth in the 200 back (1:44.89) and Bursch in the 400 individual medley (3:54.31). McGovern was the event winner among a full field in the 100 back while posting the sixth-fastest time in program history. Barth's time moved him up to seventh place in the team record book. Meanwhile, McGovern also posted the 10th-fastest time in program history in the 200 back (1:46.26).

Jake Heidecker was the Boilermakers' top finisher in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle. Will Schrensky was the top finisher in both breaststroke events. Schrensky accounted for the team's second-fastest times this season in both events, moving into ninth place in team history in the 200 breast. Heidecker had the second-fastest time this season in the 200 free.

Sean Gartland (500 free), Kaleb Gould (200 back), Luke Ingram (400 IM), James Nguyen (100 & 200 Breast), Matt Quinlan (100 & 200 breast) and Jared Schimmelpfenning (500 free) also posted a personal season-best time that ranked among the top five on the team this season.

The Big Ten Championships begin Wednesday with the opening night relays at 6:30 p.m. ET. Ohio State is hosting the men's championships for the first time since 2010.
